American Eagle Roofing & Coating is a commercial roofing contractor based in Clear Lake, Wisconsin, with a second location in Motley, Minnesota. Mose Borntreger started the company in January 2017 and runs it today with his wife, Emma. When you call, you talk to Mose. When someone walks your roof, it is typically Mose.
Before American Eagle, Mose spent five years in residential and commercial roofing working alongside his brother. He started his own company to focus on commercial work: he liked working with business owners, he liked the size of the jobs, and he liked the problems flat roofs throw at you. That is still the whole business. Flat and low-slope commercial roofs — warehouses, manufacturing plants, retail centers, clinics, restaurants and ag buildings. No residential.

Coating season runs early May through mid-October, weather depending. If you call in the fall, we can inspect now and schedule the work for spring.
How we work
The owner walks the roof
Most companies send a sales rep. Here the person who inspects your roof is the person responsible for the job, and the person you deal with from the first call to the last day on site.
We are straight with you about recover versus replace
A coating or a fabric-reinforced system costs a lot less than a tear-off — but only on a roof that qualifies. If the insulation is wet or the deck is damaged, we will tell you, and we will tell you what that changes. We do not turn down work because of wet insulation; we just do not coat over it.
We test before we commit
Every time a TPO seam gets welded, a test sample is welded first and pulled apart to check the weld before the seam goes down for good. Before a coating goes on a metal roof, we run an adhesion pull test on a small cleaned section so we know the coating will bond to that roof.
