Commercial Roofing in Hudson, WI
Flat and low-slope commercial roofs in Hudson — inspection, repair, recover, coating, and replacement.
Two of the Hudson buildings we were on this spring are below. Neither one was leaking when we walked it. That's not an accident, and it's the best argument we've got for getting on a roof before it makes you. The one walking it is usually Mose, the owner. More about American Eagle and how we work.
Two Hudson roofs this spring
200,000 square feet, and not a drop coming through
We inspect a two-building warehouse site in Hudson, about 200,000 square feet across both roofs.
The big building's roof is near the end of its life. It carries years of patches from whoever had it before us. And it isn't leaking.
That last part is why we're not selling a replacement. We're watching it. Every time we're up there we walk it looking for what's about to turn into a problem, and when we find something, we patch it and buy more time.
The smaller building was a different story — 50,000 square feet, and in much worse shape. That one we replaced this spring.
The owner didn't want both roofs landing in the same year. So we did the worse one first. That only works if somebody's actually telling you which roof is worse — and telling you when the answer is not yet.
The office building the HVAC crew flagged
A 40,000 square foot office building in Hudson. The owner had HVAC work done, and the crew that was up there said somebody ought to look at the roof, because it didn't look good from where they were standing.
They were right.
It's a ballasted roof — stone over membrane. In places the stone was gone or pushed out of position and the membrane was sitting bare. The edges weren't adhered well. Older patches were starting to come apart. There was storm debris up there.
Then the thing that decided it: there was no water damage underneath.
That's the difference between a roof job and a building job. We took the old rubber off and put a new membrane down, and the deck underneath was sound — because it hadn't started leaking yet. We fixed the slope in one spot by a drain while we were at it, so water leaves the roof instead of sitting on it.
The owner went ahead with it.
Wait another two years and that's a different conversation, with a different number on it.
What both of these have in common
Neither owner called us because water was coming through a ceiling.
One roof is old and patched and still dry, so we're keeping it alive. One looked rough from a service platform, so it got a new membrane and a drainage fix while the deck under it was still good.
That's the whole case for walking a roof on a schedule instead of waiting for it to tell you.

Common commercial roof problems we see in Hudson — and everywhere else
Fastener back-out and seam issues on older metal roofs (small problems that turn into big leaks)
Rust at penetrations and gutters where water sits and corrosion starts
Ponding water on low-slope roofs after heavy rain or snowmelt
Membrane splits and flashing failures around curbs, drains, and HVAC units
Freeze/thaw stress that opens up weak points over time
Many of these trace back to Wisconsin’s seasonal swings — see how freeze-thaw cycles damage commercial roofs, then walk your building with our commercial roof inspection checklist.

Hudson, WI Commercial Roofing FAQs
Do you provide commercial roofing in Hudson, WI?
Yes. We provide commercial roofing services in Hudson including inspections, repairs, roof coatings, restoration systems, and replacement when needed.
How often should a commercial roof be inspected in Wisconsin?
Most commercial roofs should be inspected at least twice per year—spring and fall—and after major storms. Regular inspections help catch small issues before they become expensive leaks.
Is a roof coating cheaper than replacing a commercial roof?
In many cases, yes. If the roof structure is sound, coatings can extend roof life and reduce leaks at a lower cost than full replacement. An inspection confirms whether coating is a good fit.
Can you coat an older metal roof with rust?
Often, yes—depending on severity. Surface rust can typically be treated and prepped, but advanced corrosion or structural failure may require replacement. We'll confirm during inspection.
What roof types do you work on?
We work on commercial metal roofs and many low-slope systems, including membrane roofs. We'll recommend the best solution based on your roof type and condition.
What's included in a free commercial roof inspection?
We look for leak sources, seam and fastener issues, membrane problems, flashing failures, ponding water areas, and overall roof condition, then provide clear next-step recommendations.
Do you handle repairs before coating a roof?
Yes. Proper repairs and prep are essential for long-term performance, so we address problem areas before applying a coating or restoration system.
